We’re Patrick and Rachael, the team behind Coastal Chaos NZ — a Tauranga-based food truck serving up smashed burgers, loaded fries, and unforgettable catering experiences across the Bay of Plenty.

The name “Coastal Chaos” is a nod to two things we love:
Coastal — because we’re lucky to call the stunning coastlines of Aotearoa our backyard. From the beachy vibes of Mount Maunganui to the beauty of the wider Bay of Plenty, we’re proud to be based in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
Chaos — because food truck life is fast, fiery, and full of flavor. It’s high-energy, hands-on, and a little bit wild — but we thrive in the madness and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Patrick has spent 20+ years working as a chef in restaurants and catering kitchens across Aotearoa. From perfecting house-made sauces to crafting creative menus for private functions, he brings serious skills and next-level flavor to everything we serve. Rachael has over a decade of experience running venues and managing front-of-house teams — keeping the chaos organised and making sure every guest feels welcome and taken care of.

We started Coastal Chaos to do food our way — bold, handmade, no shortcuts. What began as a love for street food and festivals quickly grew into something bigger: private catering, weddings, birthdays, staff parties, corporate functions — anywhere people want great food and even better energy.
